Here are a two of the pictures I took at the ruins of Pompeii, which I saw on my trip to Italy last September.  The first one is of a pregnant woman who died trying to get away from the ash and was found by archeologists.  


 

A day that the world did come to an end in Pompei.  This is a statue of a Pompei resident sitting as the ash suffocated him and then preserved his last moments as found by archeologists centuries later.
